It takes a community to make a community celebration! There are many exciting ways for both you and your business to become a part of Parktacular. Please consider any of the opportunities below, or see Sponsorship.

Businesses

Many Parktacular events are designed to include and promote the community businesses and organizations we all rely on. Your participation in these events is essential to the success of Parktacular. Show your support for our community and promote yourself by participating in one of the following events. A file to download for more information and applications is included with each.

Individuals

Volunteering to help at Parktacular is a great way to give back to your community and get in on the fun! Volunteers ages 16 + are welcome! Sign up individually or sign up with a friend. Children ages 10 and older are welcome to volunteer with an adult. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and one free meal!

To volunteer or receive more information about these volunteer positions, please call Sarah in the City and School volunteer office at 952-928-6025 or e-mail krzesowiak.sarah@slpschools.org. Volunteers are needed to help at the 2010 Parktacular Celebration in the following areas:

Help staff the fabulous Block Party on the Town Green on Saturday, June 18. Sell tickets and Parktacular buttons, staff the gates, or help with maintenance. Volunteers are needed for 3 hour shifts: 5:30-8:30 pm, 8-11 pm. Have fun at the dance and volunteer, too.

Staff the Parktacular Information Booths: Saturday, June 18, 11:00 am-7:00 pm. Job duties include: greeting people, handing out Event Guides, selling Parktacular Buttons/Button Coupon Cards, and directing people to where they want to go. Shifts are 2 hours, you can volunteer with a friend or we will pair you with someone!

Parade Volunteers: Saturday, June 18, Assist with traffic control for the parade. Time commitment: 3 hour shifts of 9:15 am -12 pm, 11:45 am-2:45 pm. Directions will be provided.

Kid's Eco Fair/Kid's Fest: Saturday, June 18, 12 pm -6 p.m. Help with a variety of events as well as set-up and take-down. Seed planting, paint a pot, and reptiles are just some of the activities or the Giant Slip 'n' Slide. Volunteers are needed to assist staff with the event. Time commitment: 3 hour shifts, 12 noon-3:00 pm or 3:00-6:00 pm (Eco Fair/Slip 'n' Slide) or you can also help the entire time.
